Meditation of the Week – September 19

“If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all.” How easy it is to forget these words and how distracted we are from living these words. Jesus knew His mission to serve others, with full trust in God’s plan. We must become childlike in our own trust, remembering the words and actions of Jesus, so that we may be the best servants of God to our neighbor with the fullness of Jesus, in kindness and truth. We will not think of ourselves first, but rather helping others, so they may encounter Jesus. We will bear our cross of sacrifice, every time we deny ourselves first to help another. The thought may come to us… How is it possible to do what He calls us to? Pray to God, let Him lead, and then trust in the example Jesus gave us and follow.
